FOR YOUR SINS

Aston Martin Valiant

Harking back and howling forward. The most extreme front-engine road car ever built by Aston Martin. Road legal, but everything it knows is learnt from the track. A 5.2-litre, twin-turbocharged V12. With a manual transmission. Exposed gear linkages. Magnesium wheels. Carbon-fibre aero covers. Quad titanium exhaust. Half cage. Race-bred dampers. And motorsport-grade light weighing.

Twinning the fearlessness of 70s race cars with the technology and materials of today’s pit lane. Originating from a personal commission from Fernando Alonso to build a car that is a monument to the thrill of driving. Without a single flinch of moderation. This is vice in the form of a V12.

EXHAUST
Zircotec ceramic-coated quad titanium exhausts
Four tailpipes. Thinned as far as physically possible, to reduce all unnecessary weight. Working in symphony with the cylinders of the engine. To sharpen the siren call of the V12 into a more high-pitched, hedonistic howl.

MANUAL GEARBOX
Bespoke 6-speed manual
Three pedals. Manual gearbox. The purist route to pleasure. Exposed gear linkages put the steel rods of the transmission on open-air display. Creating a more visceral connection between driver and car. Bleeding sound into the cockpit. Where a machined, self-colourised aluminium knob lets you steal joy from every heel and toe change on the drilled pedals.

DAMPERS
Race-bred dampers
Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers. Based on the fundamental spool valve technology pioneered and patented by Multimatic® to win at Le Mans and in F1®. Evolved to the next level with adaptive electronic control. Uniquely able to react to the rhythm of the road and the car’s dynamic needs. Simultaneously adjusting between 32 discreet damper curves inside the space of 6 milliseconds. Arming you with greater confidence, increased stability and a more seamless, direct line of feedback, faster than you can blink.

ENGINE
A 5.2-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 engine
Discharging 745PS and 753Nm of torque. Turning the slightly intimidating up to outright menacing. Compressing the air before it enters its twelve cylinders. Punching you in the back with low-end torque. Deployed to the rear wheels by way of a torque tube made of magnesium to reduce mass by 9.5kg, and a mechanical limited slip differential maximising the driver’s ability to exploit the chassis. With a lightweight lithium-ion battery firing the engine and saving 12.5kg.

Exterior

Unmercifully unsubtle from its ferocious front splitter and 70s inspired rear wing, to its magnesium wheels and aggressive carbon fibre body. Each line and angle of aero adding downforce to the most momentous of aesthetic statements.

CHASSIS AND BODY
A ferocious body of work
One of extraordinarily few cars to boast an all-carbon fibre body. Forged in 2x2 twill. With a herringbone-weave hidden beneath the paintwork. Minimal in its mass. Bonding an exceptional strength with an extreme of light weighing. The rear of Valiant is sculpted into a fixed one-piece rear clamshell. Adding function to form with a hinged rear screen panel. Opening into the ideal space to store race helmets. Sitting below the enormity of the rear wing is a sharp descent into a Kamm tail. Flexing its aesthetic prowess and improving aerodynamics. This all comes underlined by the bonded aluminium chassis and a 3D printed rear subframe. Trimming a further 3kg of weight.

FRONT SPLINGER AND REAR WING
Understatement is overrated
A feast of excess from nose to tail. The front splitter pushes what is possible by taking its size to a new extreme. Tempered and grounded only by the enormity of its rear wing. End mounted for a silhouette that conjures visions of a bygone era. Built as one-piece to be part of the body for an unbroken flow of all-carbon fibre.

DIFFUSER AND SIDE SILLS
Taunting turbulence
The scalloped side fender vents flank the body releasing pressure from the wheel wells. Designed using computational fluid dynamics, the functional rear diffuser minimises lift and drag. Stamping their mark on the lower edge of the body ahead of the rear wheels, the broad side sills and upswept vortex generators tame airflow, cut drag and eject turbulence from around the tyres. Working in tandem with F1® inspired end panes. Mounted on the front splitter. Expertly increasing aerodynamics in all three dimensions.

MAGNESIUM WHEELS
Menace, mounted on magnesium wheels
Magnesium wheels. 1.5 times less dense than aluminium. Trimming a total of 14kg of unsprung mass, 4x over. Smoothing weight transfer through the suspension. Combining with carbon fibre aero covers to reduce turbulence. Woven in 2x2 twill to match the direction of the splitter, sills and diffuser. A visual nod to the track cars of the 70s, reviving the memory of the Muncher. Tearing forward, technologically, with a specification taken directly from the design of the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

STEERING WHEEL
Stripped back racing wheel
The steering wheel is stripped of all unnecessary additions. A design and finish unique to Valiant. No buttons, no controls or levers. Freeing the driver to focus their eyes on the road and hands on the stick. Wrapped in Alcantara®. Set around a centre of machined aluminium spokes. Bound in semi aniline leather, protected by pigment which dyes the material to guard the integrity of the grain. Embellished only with a trim of metal at the 12 o’clock mark. Allowing the driver to gauge their orientation without deviating their vision from the road.

STYLING
Carbon fibre suit, Alcantara® lining
Machined aluminium crowns the jewellery and gear lever. Semi aniline leather wraps the steering column cover. Slip-resistant Alcantara® lines the interiors above the driver’s waist. Standing the test of time even in high octane racing environments. The doors, centre console and performance seat shell come cased in carbon fibre. While the brushed steel pedals are minutely detailed with a drilled design. Transporting you back in time to the track cars of the 70s.

HALF CAGE
Two words. Half cage.
The first half cage in a road-legal Aston Martin. Formed from high-tensile steel. Powder coated for an extra layer of protection. Bolstering the torsional rigidity of the chassis to improve the handling of the car. Finished with an optional 4-point racing harness. And, like the dampers, made by Multimatic®. Manufacturers of choice for the motorsport industry. * Half cage without FIA-GT or DMSB approval and without the possibility to extend the front to a full cage.
